Silver Lake

Silver Lake is a trophy trout and mackinaw fishery. It is a long yet beautiful and scenic drive to get to Silver Lake, so you won't be disappointed with the drive. The lake is surrounded by beautiful and scenic hiking trails. The lake is located at the 7200 feet elevation with the grandeur of mountain peaks, dense forests, scattered lakes throughout the area, and meadows that are full of wildflowers. The Plasse's Resort, which is located on Silver Lake, is open from June until October each year, and they have something for every nature lover and outdoor enthusiast. Swimmers, water skiers, sail boaters, fishing boats, and kayaks are all welcome to enjoy the refreshing, clear blue waters of Silver Lake. The lake is surrounded by picturesque mountains, beautiful meadows, and wildflowers are everywhere. They even have areas where they have weddings and concerts for those that want the option to have their special day or special event to be held in the beauty of nature.

Silver Lake Fishing
For rainbow trout the bank fishermen can user powerbait with the top color being chartreuse glitter. Kastmasters and night crawlers work well for both bank and boat fishermen. For trolling, the typical trout setups work quite well. Using dodgers or flashers with a half of a mini crawler, spoon, or needlefish trailing about 18 inches behind will do the trick. If you are toplining you should have atleast a 75 foot setback, and a longer setback would be even better. For Brown Trout you should use an inflated night crawler if your bait fishing, and if your trolling you should use a Rapala, Rebel, Needlefish, or a Cisco Kid Lure. For Mackinaw Trout you will need to troll a large immitation minnow stickbait lure near the bottom in the lake's north end and in the narrows. The Cisco Kid Lures work very well when trolling with your weight bouncing off of the bottom. You can also jig straight down off the bottom with a Nordic Spoon or a Gibb's Minnow.

Fish Species - Brown Trout, Rainbow Trout, Mackinaw Trout (Lake Trout)
